Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Here is the final version. Quick answers to the questions we hear most often. Can’t find what you need? Contact our advisors and we’ll respond within one working day.

Ordering & prescriptions

Do I need a prescription to order glasses?

Yes for prescription lenses, no for non-prescription. UK opticians are required by law to give you a copy of your prescription after a sight test. We accept prescriptions up to two years old.

Where do I enter my prescription?

At the lens-selection step of checkout, after you’ve chosen a frame.

What’s a PD and where do I find it?

Pupillary distance, in millimetres. Your optician usually measures it during a sight test — if it’s not on your prescription, see how to measure your PD.

Can I order glasses for a child?

UK General Optical Council rules require prescription glasses for under-16s to be dispensed by a registered optician in person. You can buy a frame on its own and have lenses fitted at a registered practice.

Can I order with my old prescription?

If it’s less than two years old, yes. Older than that, please book a sight test first.

Lenses

Which lens index should I choose?

It depends on your prescription strength and the frame you’ve chosen. See our lens guide for full details, or message us before ordering.

Do you make varifocal lenses?

Yes. We offer four tiers from Advanced to Kodak Easy2 Max. See our varifocal lens guide.

What’s included with every lens?

Anti-reflective coating, scratch-resistant coating, UV protection, and anti-smudge — all included as standard.

Can I add blue-light filtering?

Yes, at the lens-selection step. See our blue-light glasses guide.

Frames & sizing

How do I know if a frame will fit?

See our size guide. The three numbers on the inside of any frame (e.g. 52–20–140) are lens width, bridge width, and temple length in millimetres. Compare them to a frame you already own.

Do you sell rimless frames?

Selected models, yes. Rimless frames look great with high-index lenses (1.60 and above) where the lens edge is thin enough to drill safely.

Can any frame take varifocal lenses?

Most can, but very shallow frames may squeeze the reading zone. We pre-check our varifocal-ready collection for compatibility.

Shipping & delivery

How long will my order take?

Frame-only orders typically dispatch within 1–2 working days. Prescription orders take 5–10 working days because lenses are made to order.

Do you ship outside the UK?

See our shipping policy for current destinations and rates.

Can I track my order?

Yes — we’ll email a tracking link as soon as your order dispatches.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna pay-in-3.

Is Klarna available?

Yes. See our Klarna FAQ.

Are prices inclusive of VAT?

Yes — all UK prices include 20% VAT.

Returns, refunds & warranty

Can I return my glasses?

Non-prescription frames within 30 days. Prescription glasses are made to order and are non-returnable unless faulty. See our refund policy.

What if my glasses arrive damaged?

Contact us within 7 days with photos and we’ll arrange a replacement at no charge.

Is there a warranty?

See our warranty page (currently in draft — 12-month manufacturing defect cover is industry standard and we’ll confirm full terms shortly).

What if I can’t adapt to my varifocals?

Most opticians and online dispensers operate a non-tolerance period as standard practice. If you’re struggling after two weeks of consistent wear, get in touch.
