Warranty
Warranty
Draft notice: the warranty terms below reflect industry-standard practice for online prescription eyewear retailers and are presented for your review before publication. Please confirm or amend the terms to match Ardor Eyewear’s actual policy before this page goes live.
We want every pair of Ardor glasses to last. This page sets out the warranty cover provided on frames and lenses purchased from ardoreyewear.co.uk.
What is covered
Ardor Eyewear provides a 12-month limited warranty from the date of purchase against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, including:
- Frame breakage at hinges, bridge, or temple under normal wear
- Premature lens coating failure (peeling, crazing, or delamination not caused by misuse)
- Plating or finish that lifts under normal use within the warranty period
What is not covered
- Accidental damage — dropping, sitting on, or stepping on the glasses
- Scratches on lenses (a common consequence of normal use, not a manufacturing defect)
- Damage caused by harsh chemicals, paper towels, or improper cleaning
- Damage from heat exposure (left in cars, near radiators, or in saunas)
- Loss or theft — please use your home insurance for these
- Wear and tear of nose pads, screws, and small adjustable parts (we replace these free of charge regardless)
How to make a warranty claim
- Email us via our contact form with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the defect.
- We’ll review within one working day and respond with next steps.
- If approved, we’ll either repair, replace, or (where neither is practical) refund the affected component.
You don’t need to send the glasses back before we approve a claim — photos are usually enough.
Your statutory rights
This warranty is in addition to your rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015. The Act gives you the right to a refund, repair, or replacement if goods are not of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, or as described — separate from any warranty offered by us.
Adaptation period for varifocal lenses
Adapting to varifocal lenses can take a few days for some wearers and up to two weeks for others. If, after consistent daily wear for two weeks, you genuinely cannot adapt to your prescription or lens design, please contact us. Most opticians and online dispensers operate a non-tolerance period as standard practice and we’ll do our best to help.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my issue is a manufacturing defect?
Manufacturing defects appear without obvious external cause and usually within the first few months of wear. Damage from drops, impacts, or chemical exposure is not a manufacturing defect.
Can you repair my glasses if they break outside the warranty?
We can usually arrange paid repairs for frames that are still in production. Contact us with photos and we’ll quote the cost.
What if I lost a screw or my nose pads need replacing?
We’ll send replacements free of charge regardless of warranty period — just ask.
Does the warranty cover prescription accuracy?
If lenses are made to a prescription different from the one you submitted, that’s our error and we’ll re-make them at no charge. If the prescription itself was wrong (i.e. the optician’s test was inaccurate), please get the prescription updated and we can quote for new lenses.
